A New Kind of Family is a 1979 sitcom aired on ABC. It centers around Kit Flanagan (Eileen Brennan), a widowed mother of three who attempts to save some money by sharing a home with divorcee Abby Stone (Gwynne Gilford) and her daughter Jill (Connie Ann Hearn). After six episodes, the series was retooled to replace the Stones with Jess (Thelma Hopkins) and Jojo (Janet Jackson) Ashton, and despite this, it was cancelled four episodes later. Since then, scant footage has turned up.
