Bob the Builder is a British animated children's television series created by Keith Chapman for HiT Entertainment. In the original series, which aired from 1999 until 2011, Bob appears in an animated programme as a building contractor, specializing in masonry, along with his colleague Wendy, various neighbours, and friends, and their gang of anthropomorphised work-vehicles and equipment. When the first series of Bob the Builder first aired in 1999, not many people had 16:9 widescreen televisions. Because of this, it was aired in 4:3 fullscreen. However, the first series of Bob the Builder might have been filmed in 16:9 widescreen, as the intro used from the fourth series - the ninth series is identical to the intro used in the first series - the third series (it being cropped in the second series and third series), just in 16:9 widescreen. The first series of Bob the Builder is also very bright and colourful, while the rest of the series isn't as bright and colourful. However, the intro used for the fourth series - the ninth series is never been bright and as colourful as first series is, so the original 16:9 Widescreen version might be colour corrected as well.

The Official WildBrain YouTube Channel has uploaded the first series in 16:9 widescreen, however, this version is actually stretched from the 4:3 fullscreen version.
