Captain Fracasse ( also known as Capitaine Fracasse in French or simply Fracasse) is a 1999, Spanish-French, action-adventure, children's, family, animated, television series. It is based on the novel of the same title by Theophile Gautier. Co-production was amongst D'Ocon Films, Dargaud Marina, Ellipse Animation, and France 2. It ran for a single season of 26 episodes.

Plot[]

An 18th century, Parisian pirate-action hero known as Captain Fracasse leads a double life, taking on the role of vigilante as he patrols the backstreets of the Capital nightly to uphold the law while trying to get to the bottom of some mysteries. Daily, he is a theatre director who is plagued by administrative difficulties.

Status[]

None of the series is available in English and one of the only videos of it is the trailer on both Youtube and the Mediatoon Distribution site. The 25th episode, "Le Secret de Vallombruese" or "Vallombruese's Secret", is the only episode on Youtube in French. The series in its entirety, in any language, has yet to be found.
