Game shows with missing episodes are hardly an uncommon incident -The Price is Right, Hollywood Square, Wheel of Fortune - you name it, it probably has an episode or two unviewable by the general public. Nickelodeon's most famous game show, Double Dare, is no acception. Hosted by Marc Summers, the classic game show focused primarily on kids, who would have to go through (usually disgusting) obstacle courses in order to win prizes of trips and small amounts of money.

While it certainly has fared better than most game shows by having the privalege of years of reruns for fans to record, several episodes are still unable to be seen online.

Episodes Currently Missing (Important Notes in Parenthesis)

-TV Dinners (TV Guide Toss, 1990, Blue Team Victory)

-Trash Head (Family Double Dare)

-Nick All Star Special (Was on YouTube for a time, but apparently no one thought to archive it)

-High 5 (1989)

-Mark Vs Harvey

-Paint by Number (2000)

-Limetime (1989)

-Hollywood Squares (1992)

-Amanda Show #s 1 & 2 (2000)

The Arm Breaking Incident

In addition to the missing episodes above, there was at least one episode of Double Dare that was filmed but never aired. The episode involved a kid that had a condition that made his bones more fragile than the average contestant on the show. Said kid lied about it on the application and made it on to the show.

During filming of the episode, the predictable happened - the kid broke his arm while doing one of the obstacles on the show. Nickelodeon, fearing being sued over the incident (espescially since the kid's father was a lawyer), gave the kid the seventh's obstacle prize as compensation, and the case was settled. The episode has not seen the light of day, likely due to this incident.
