Lost Media Archive

Farmergeddon71 was a YouTube channel that was active circa 2010, producing videos parodying the long-running British science fiction series Doctor Who using heavily edited versions of existing clips, using an array of editing techniques that were uncommon at that period, such as rotoscoping and computer-generated imagery. In 2017, the channel and all its contents were deleted from YouTube, and the only known media to survive from the channel are snippets from the videos The Five Doctors: Part 1 and Flight of the Darned featured in a fan compilation of fellow Doctor Who YouTubers Rick Kelvington and Stuart 'BabelColour' Humphryes, and a low-quality copy of The Five Doctors: Part 1.

Known videos[]

  • Flight of the Darned - a parody of the episode Time Flight in which Concorde, situated in prehistoric Heathrow, travels forwards and backwards in time through various situations - knocking the antenna off the dish at 'the Jodrell Project, Pharos Bank' and being shot at by the security forces; being chased around the Valiant by the Toclafane in The Sound of Drums; transforming into an X-Wing and performing the Death Star Trench run; performing a music video with Kylie Minogue ('Economy Kylie') featuring Alpha Centauri protesting the lack of classic Doctor Who monsters in the revived series; and finally crashing into the 10th Doctor's TARDIS and depositing Kylie in the console room (presumably in reference to her role in Voyage of the Damned, further referenced by the title) and causing an airbag to explode in the 5th Doctor's face.
  • The Five Doctors - a two-part re-edit of the 20th anniversary special. Scenes include:
    • Turlough's portrait screams and attempts to escape the paper. (footage from Fear Her; the scream audio is from the illusory Zoe from The Five Doctors).
    • The Cybermen fail to blow up the TARDIS; it instead is blown into the air, whereupon it lands on top of Sarah Jane Smith, squashing her, before the doors fall off and the 9th Doctor emerges and runs down the street.
    • The 1st Doctor and Susan trick the Dalek into destroying itself; however instead of the view of the Dark Tower in the Death Zone, they are instead greeted by the view of Basil Fawlty pretending to check the walls (footage of John Cleese from Fawlty Towers).
    • The 2nd Doctor and the Brigadier being shot at by UNIT (using repurposed footage from The Three Doctors) for his "tomorrow's Times" comment, following which UNIT HQ is destroyed by a tripod from the BBC series The Tripods.
    • A computer-generated sequence of Gallifrey going from high orbit (showing Tom Baker clinging to an orbiting asteroid) down into a cyberpunk city, featuring a massive holographic billboard advertising Prydonian attire.
    • A montage where the rock thrown by the 5th Doctor after the Master is apparently shot by the Cybermen goes on to cause a tremendous amount of trouble, such as pushing Sarah Jane Smith down an embankment, hitting Susan Foreman in the ankle as she runs away, and destroying the Liberator from Blake's 7.
    • In the 1990s VHS edit, the 2nd Doctor and the Brigadier discover the 4th Doctor rock-climbing in the tunnels under the Tower, and the 2nd Doctor lights and throws an explosive that causes a rock-slide. (footage from Revenge of the Cybermen)
    • Instead of Rassilon appearing, the 10th Doctor bursts through a mirror atop a horse and comments to his other selves, who all close their eyes in response, "you look younger every day" (footage from The Girl in the Fireplace). In the 1990s VHS edit, this is replaced with footage of the producer John Nathan-Turner, who compliments Borusa as being almost to his standard and asks the Doctors if they are fans of 'yomping', to which all the Doctors vicariously decline.
    • The end credits become stuck, only to become unstuck when struck by the rock from earlier.
  • Goodbye Tom - a much sillier version of the regeneration scene from Logopolis where the 4th Doctor sees, among other things, the pantomime horse from The Talons of Weng-Chiang; a Taran Wood Beast; the K1 robot from Robot being tickled by a feather duster; and finally, most horrifying of all, the late Mary Whitehouse. He falls, only to bounce back up and fall off again, continuing to bounce as his companions rush to his aid.
  • A version of the cliffhanger from Doctor Who and the Silurians Episode 4, where the Silurians' use of its telepathic third eye on the 3rd Doctor causes his face to melt with a comical sound effect.
