Paris is a 1979 crime drama aired on CBS. In his first televised lead role, James Earl Jones starred as LAPD Captain Woody Paris, supervisor of a team of young detectives. Unusual for cop shows of the era, the series also devoted time to Paris' life beyond duty. Though the tension between Paris and the detectives was liked by the TV critics, the series aired in one of CBS' worst time slots (Saturdays at 10 PM Eastern), and was cancelled after 11 of 13 episodes aired. Since then, hardly any footage has turned up.
