In 2014, Amazon and HIT Entertainment made a deal to bring the Fireman Sam franchise to Amazon.com exclusively in the United States. From Season 6 to Season 9, all American dubs of specials and seasons were released then. However, when Season 10 rolled by in 2016, there were details about the US dub when clips were uploaded around 2017. Five episodes of the US dub Season 10 were available on the Fireman Sam US YouTube channel, and the entire season was never released to Prime Video. However, ten more of the lost US dub episodes were released on an add-free kids' TV app called "Hopster," which Plato Media Ltd developed. As well as the entire US dub season 11 was found on there as well. Starting from season 12, the US dub has possibly been discontinued. A YouTuber and Internet Archive user named Unknown Archive User has uploaded the complete season 11 US dub to YouTube and the other ten episodes of season 10 from the Hopster app. So far, all 13 episodes of season 11 and 13 episodes from season 10 of US dubs have been found.
Changes and Trivia[]
- Six episodes and a special have been retitled:
- Hot and Cold Running Sniffer Dog is retitled Hot and Cold Running Tracker Dog.
- Floating Kart is retitled Floating Cart.
- When Fools Rush In is retitled Fools in Rush.
- Day at the Seaside is retitled A Day at the Beach.
- Open Day is retitled Open House.
- Fiery Football is retitled Fiery Soccer.
- Heroes of the Storm is retitled Ultimate Heroes.
- Most characters speak in American and Canadian accents, but the only characters that have the same accents and actors are Tom Thomas, Moose Roberts, Bella Lasagne, the Prince and the young Prince, as they retain their respective Australian, Canadian, Italian and British voices from the UK dub.
- "Station Officer" is changed to "Fire Captain".
- "Chief Fire Officer" is changed to "Fire Department Chief".
- On Alien Alert and Set for Action, the theme songs are still the same as the original UK English Version, but the intros play at a much slower pace than the original UK dub, in which the movies theme songs are played at normal pace.
- On the US dub of Heroes of the Storm, the end credits song has different lyrics. “tell me who are you going to call? Well, it’s Fireman Sam and his team of friends, they’re the heroes of the storm.” is changed to “and there’s nowhere left to go. call up Fireman Sam and his team of friends, they’re the ultimate heroes.”
- The new characters that are introduced in the specials, Alien Alert and Set for Action, Buck Douglas, Don Sledgehammer, and Flex Dexter have their respective UK voices.
- On series 11, in the US dub, Norman Price and Derek Price have new US voice actors, Mark Ricci replaces Carter Treneer as the US voices of Norman Price and Derek Price.
- In many US releases that include Series 5 (that were never dubbed in the US, unlike Thomas the Tank Engine and Bob the Builder), the episodes Neighbourhood Watchout and The Case of the Liquorice Shoelaces were respelled as Neighborhood Watchout and The Case of the Licorice Shoelaces respectively because of the American English spelling.
- On the Fireman Sam US YouTube channel, they show episode clips from series 12-13 but US dubs of those seasons never existed. It’s either whoever’s in charge of running that channel doesn’t know much about the US dub or probably just doesn’t care. https://youtube.com/@FiremanSamUSA?feature=shared
