Gokū no Daibōken was one the first animation series aired by Canal Nou, the Catalan-language channel from Valencia. It was released under the name Els Monkeys.
It was aired since early 1990, with a localy made dub, being the only existing of this anime in Spain. It was adapted from Italy, with italian intertitles and the same theme song by The Cocodrilli. For the Valencian dub, the song would be sang by Carraixet, as several of its members are also dub-actresses.
Being one of the first series aired by the channel, and having a similar topic and aestethics as Dragon Ball, which was a huge success and would run a few months afterwards in the same channel, would fade the series into shadows, thus becoming completely lost the dubbing as there would be no reruns.
In August 2023, the full 25th episode would be uploaded to Youtube. The voice cast is on Catalan Wikipedia. In 2025, the Anime en Valencià would recover a partial recording of the second episode
