The Amazing World of Gumball is a British-American animated series which premiered in 2011 on Cartoon Network, the series ended in 2019 and is returning for seventh season in 2025-2026.
In 2008, a one minute animation test of the show was created at Studio Soi and pitched to Cartoon Network. The animation test was about Gumball and Darwin trying to escape school which ends with them on Hector’s butt but the concept of the animation test was about reject cartoon characters attending a remedial school, but producers felt this concept was too sad. Ben Bocquelet then revised this idea and made it more cheery, taking on the structure of a family sitcom. The producers liked this idea, and work went underway for what would become The Amazing World of Gumball.
The animation test was lost media for a while until it was uploaded on YouTube by series creator Ben Bocquelet on January 18, 2013.
