The Imagination Movers are an American children's band formed in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2003. The "movers" of the band consist of Rich Collins, Scott Durbin, Dave Poche, and Scott "Smitty" Smith.
From 2008 to 2013, the band had their own TV series that aired on Playhouse Disney (later Disney Junior when Playhouse Disney had its rebrand becoming the former) that revolved around the Movers helping clients who would come to their warehouse for problems that needed to be solved.
Pilot[]
On October 11, 2006, the Imagination Movers announced that they would be shooting a pilot episode for the Disney Channel in December 2006, although there's no information of the plot or photos of the pilot episode were even shown to the public.
On August 19, 2017, a Facebook user named Lorgin A. B. contacted the Imagination Movers Facebook page asking about the pilot's plot, what was different in it compared to the TV series, and if a copy of it still exists.
One of the people who run the page actually replied to him, and explained that the plot of the pilot episode was the same as the thirteenth episode of the TV series, "Bucket of Trouble". The character Knit Knots, the Movers' boring neighbor was said to be different in the pilot episode to how he is in the TV series. The character Nina, Knit Knot's optimistic ever-smiling niece was named Carla instead and was played by a unknown different actress (Wendy Calio played her in the TV series) and the character Warehouse Mouse, a puppet mouse in the TV series didn't even exist in the pilot episode.
In addition, the person said that he/she thinks that only the Movers themselves have copies of the pilot episode, and also said that the pilot episode will probably not to be released to the public, unless Disney "did some crazy DVD release of the seasons and included it."
Disney also probably to have the pilot episode in their archives, but it would be impossible to ask them about it.
Update[]
On July 7, 2022, the full pilot episode was uploaded to YouTube by user name Doug Lavender.
Changes in the Pilot Episode[]
- Dave wore an orange hat instead of red which is shown in the music videos shot the same year.
- Warehouse Mouse was a real life mouse rather than a puppet.
- The Pilot Episode was reduced to 13-14 minutes instead of the usual 25 minutes with certain things not being in the original version (such as Scott messing up his line for the commercial multiple times).
- In the finalized version, Rich got the bucket stuck on his foot after chasing Warehouse Mouse trying to get scribble sticks back and accidentally got caught in Dave's bug trap. In the pilot episode, Rich got scared of Warehouse Mouse and accidentally ran into Dave's mousetrap.
- The Theme Song looks a little similar to the 2006 music video but it has been altered and shortened.
- The songs "I Can Do it By Myself" and "Pop" had special music videos that were only used in the pilot episode but the songs were heavily edited, the song "Pop" also featured a verse (fizzy bubbles in my soda pop) that was only used in their 2005 album "Eight Feet."
- The audio for the song Brainstorming was used from their first album "Good Ideas" but was shortened.
- The closing song "Jump Up" doesn't appear at the end of the pilot episode, in fact there are no end credits at the end of the pilot episode.
