Leo Da Vinci is a 2019 Italian, historical fiction, adventure, family, children's, CGI-animated television series. It was created by Sergio Manfio and is loosely based on the historical figure, Leonardo da Vinci. Not to be confused with Leonardo, which was also co-created by Manfio, this series is a separate version from that.
Also, like that other Leonardo da Vinci-based show, production was by Gruppo Alcuni as well as Rai Ragazzi, Cosmos-Maya, Hessischer Rundfunk (HR), and and All Rights Entertainment. It ran for two seasons with a total of 52 episodes. It is spun off from the film, Leo Da Vinci: Mission Mona Lisa.
Plot[]
The adolescent Leo is an up-and-coming artist and inventor who has spent some time in Florence under the Medici family's rule. With the arts, finance, and creativity flourishing, Leo feels right at home. He hones his craft at Andrea del Verrocchio's workshop. The Maestro's atelier is where he meets fellow aspiring artists who plan to make Renaissance history as well. Leo has a clandestine laboratory underground where he works on his creations and he uses his friend, Lollo, to demonstrate them. He falls for his love interest, Lisa, and attempts to impress her with his works to win her over, but she outdoes him in cleverness. Leo befriends one of the Medicis, Lorenzo de', who will also go by "The Magnificent" in the future. He and his comrades must band together to rescue Lorenzo and his folks, and put a stop to a villain known as The Conspirator who is out to take over the city. The Conspirator is accompanied and assisted by a pirate crew who are misfortunate, fierce, and incompetent equally.
