Leonardo (also known as Le Invenzioni di Leonardo or The Inventions of Leonardo in Italian) is a 2008, Italian, animated, historical fiction, comedy, adventure, fantasy series, loosely based on the historical figure, Leonardo da Vinci.
It was co-created by Francesco and Sergio Manfio. Co-production was amongst Gruppo Alcuni, Rai Fiction, and DQ Entertainment. During the first season, the series was mostly, traditionally animated. But in the second season, the animation form was switched fully to CG. It ran for a couple seasons with a total of 52 episodes.
Plot[]
In the late 15th century, Leonardo da Vinci is a teen, aspiring artist and inventor. He is often full of ideas and by looking at the various objects that surround him, he is able to take inspirations from them easily as proof of his ingenuity. Leonardo also has a knack for playing games and sports.
His friends, Mona Lisa, Lorenzo, cat Pardo, and robot Tiglio assist, and accompany him on his exploits. But Leonardo's envious siblings, Gotthard and Laura, are constantly trying to come up with ways to sabotage his creations and compete with him, so that they can take his status as the best inventors. Laura is the mastermind and domineers her brother, as well as the Bardi brothers and the sorceress, Plinia. But Leo and his friends get the best of them, most of the time. All the while, this is narrated by a rooster named CoCoCo.

There's still no English dub available anywhere online currently, aside from the trailers for this of both seasons on the official Alcuni Gruppo site. However, clips of the first twelve episodes of each season are available in the original Italian version on Youtube.
