Marcelino Pan Y Vino (Spanish for Marcelino Bread and Wine) is a 2001 Spanish-French-Italian-Mexican-Japanese, action-adventure, animated, television series. It is based on the novel of the same title by Jose Maria Sanchez-Silva. Co-production was amongst VIP Toons, PMMP, TF1, Nippon Animation, and ABS-CBN in association with RAI, Televisa, and Television Espanola (TVE) with the participation of Centre National du cinema et de l'image anime (CNC), and distributed with the support of the MEDIA Programme of the European Union. It spanned three seasons and 78 episodes.

Plot[]

One night, as a baby, Marcelino is left on the doorstop of a Franciscan monastery. Some kindly friars take him in and a few years later, he grows into such a cheery, playful boy. He is gifted with the ability to understand and communicate with animals, as well as having a close connection to plants, and trees. Also being inquisitive, he constantly wants to learn about many things and the friars teach him as he gains more knowledge along the way.

Status[]

One episode from the second season, "Aches and Pains", is currently available in English on Youtube. There were more, at least at probably one point, but most of the other, full episodes in English were removed. Other videos of this are of the intro in various languages, teasers, and promos. Another episode, which is the first of the second season, "Marcelino's Return", is available on Vimeo and also in English.
