Have you ever rode the Amtrak, or saw one? Me too. But on December 18, 2017, an Amtrak Cascades fell off the bridge of Interstate-5 near Seattle in Washington.
WSDOT Caught the footage by video or photo. USA Today made a livestream but it was deleted, other videos on News websites are just stills, if anyone has this, please write in comment.
The Engineer of the Train had sued Amtrak. The train cars probably have been scrapped, or I think they might have returned to service, I don't know. Diesel-Train number 181 survived, and Diesel-Train number 1402 was damaged.
The accident caused 3 people to get killed and 65 people (57 on train and 8 on road vehicles) to get injured. One news website said that the bridge was only for Freight Trains like CSX and BNSF.
After the accident on December 20, 2017, Interstate-5 got running again, and everything was back to normal.
