In 1998 Cox Communications came up with the Idea of Digital Cable with hundreds of channels with more choices, digital quality picture and sound, one touch VCR recording, The ultimate in Parental Controls, The Place for Premium Movie Channels, More Channels, More Music, More Movies, More Sports, More Programming Variety. Digital Cable offered more channels right through the cable we already had. They Carried Basic Channels like Local Channels(ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, PBS, UPN & the WB) Plus favorites like QVC, independent stations, The Weather Channel and others. Plus Basic And Standard Channels like BET, MTV, Lifetime, The Discovery Channel, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, MSNBC, FX, Bravo, Animal Planet, TLC,AMC Disney Channel and more.
