Muddle Earth promo pic

Muddle Earth is a 2010 British, fantasy, adventure, comedy, family, children's animated, television series. It is based on the kids' novel of the same title by Paul Stewart. It is a send-up of the Lord of the Rings franchise. Co-production was by Factory Create and the BBC, and it aired as part of the CBBC block. It ran for a couple seasons with a total of 26 episodes. Prior to this, there was another adaptation that aired as part of CBBC's Jackanory in 2006. It was a reading of the story, particularly of Engelbert the Enormous, and it was limited to that due to time constraints.

Plot[]

A wizard named Randalf summons a boy named Joe Jefferson from his plain world (Earth) to Randalf's medieval fantasy world known as Muddle Earth, which is inhabited by various, fantastical creatures. Randalf wants to use Joe as a substitute for him in warding off a villain and Muddle Earth's ruler known as The Horned Baron since the former was contracted to be the hero warrior to take on him. But The Horned Baron has his own problem that even Randalf hasn't been so successful at solving: satisfying The Horned Baron's demanding wife, Ingrid. Joe and Randalf has several misadventures along the way.
