Norman Normal is a 1999 (or 2000) Irish-French-German action, comedy, superhero, children's, family, animated, television series. The creator was Jurgen Wolff. Co-production was by Cartoon Studio, Centre national du cinema et de l'image animee (CNC), EM.TV & Merchandising AG, France 2 (FR2), France 3, MEDIA Programme of the European Union, Magma Films, TFC Trickompany Filmproduktion, Tele Images International, and Tele Images Creation. It ran for three seasons and 65 episodes total. Not to be confused with the 1968, Warner Bros., special cartoon short of the same title.

Plot[]

A junior high-aged boy named Norman Stone is so-called because he is ordinary. One day, after lightning strikes the home of his family, a malfunction of a microwave fires off nukes and gives his family super powers, and they gain superhero alter-egos, even the pet dog. Since he didn't receive any, Norman remains the same. He tries his best to go about his daily school and social life without his family causing any disruptions that could inconvenience him.

Status[]

So far, only four of the first season episodes ("The Culture Maniac", "Party On", "Ring of Deceit", and "Man of the People") are available in English on Youtube. The first fifteen episodes of the same season are in French, six of the episodes of the second season are available in French, ten episodes of that same season are in German, and all thirteen episodes of the entire third season is available in French. The majority of the English version is still missing. There are intros of this in English, French, and German.

In 2010, a Vietnamese dub, now fully lost, aired on the children's TV channel VCTV8 BiBi (now ON BiBi).[1]

A copy of an English-dubbed episode from the second season, "Caution Norman at Work", is now available on Youtube. (1-18-2024).
