In July 1989, legendary voice actor Mel Blanc of Looney Tunes fame and his son Noel agreed to do a commercial for Oldsmobile promoting their new Cutlass Ciera. The commercial featured Noel and the Looney Tunes characters voiced by Mel in his final TV appearance before not knowing that this would be his final work. Some footage of the commercial has surfaced the internet as seen in the documentary ''Mel Blanc: The Man of a Thousand Voices''.
