Papa Beaver's Story Time (Les Histoires du Pere Castor under the French title) is a Canadian-French literary anthology, fantasy, family, children's animated television series created by Paul Faucher with the adaptations of the various stories by Pere Castor. It was co-produced by CINAR (now known as "WildBrain"), France 3, Canal J, GMT Productions, Typhoon Production (during the first season), Rainbow Studio, and Telepar (the latter two during its final season). It ran from 1993 until 1995 for three seasons and 78 episodes with a total of 156 segments, but mainly aired on Nickelodeon's preschool-aimed block in the US.
Plot[]
Each episode has wraparounds with Papa Beaver, who is a storytelling anthro beaver and father figure to three younger children (two boys and a girl). Whenever there is a problem amongst them, they would go to him for some help and advice to find a solution. The scene would then shift to a story that he would tells that has something in common with the kids' situation. When he finishes the story, the children are satisfied and they learn a lesson, message, or moral of it. In addition to the wraparounds, each episode is formatted as containing two segments.
Status[]
13 of the segments are available in English on YouTube, but the other 143 are still missing and have yet to be found.
