Lomax The Hound of Music is a short-lived show that was produced by Sirius Thinking LTD. (the same company who created Between The Lions). Just like its more-popular sister show, Lomax brings together puppets, humans, and animation, but instead of teaching kids about reading, it teaches kids about music.

This show follows the adventures of Lomax (named after American ethnomusicologist Alan Lomax), a good-natured, melody-obsessed puppet hound dog, his fluffy cat sidekick, Delta, and their human companion, Amy, on a tune-filled train ride aboard the Melody Hound Express crisscrossing the musical landscape of the United States of America. With the help - and full participation - of real kids on the train, on location, Lomax and his friends track down the wonderful songs in different music genres and music styles that form the heart of the nation’s most diverse musical heritage on the planet earth. Also aboard are Louise and Clark, a pair of adventurous fleas who have hitched a fun-filled ride on Lomax.

The show aired from October 6 - December 29, 2008. It got cancelled due to production issues, but reruns continue to air until 2010. It's unknown what happened to the puppets after production of the show completed, although it is likely that the puppets are currently in storage in Sirius Thinking's archives.

There was a third episode of the show, which was called "Purple Light". The plot of the episode is that The Melody Hound Express travels out West, and Lomax tracks down a cowgirl singing to her horse.

While 12 of the show's episodes were uploaded on Inkblot Games' YouTube channel, the full episode has yet to be uploaded. The only clip from the episode that can be found is the song Old Bell Cow, which can be watched here. It's unknown if anyone has a recording of this episode or is available from other sources.

UPDATE: On July 7th 2025. the episode was uploaded in full by Rare Children's Stuff on YouTube. making this episode fully found. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJOMH9sHJhA
