Searcher Clade was the former version of Strange World before it was halted and drastically overhauled. The film would have originally been directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore with the intent to make the film an buddy cop follow up to Zootopia. The plot was more akin to Treasure Island with mystical elements and a pirate ship.

Production[]
Early in development, On April 3, 2020, an animated feature was announced for a late 2022 release. On May 31, 2021, auditions began for the role of Ethan with production set to commence on July 1. In August, information on the film, alongside its working title, Searcher Clade was revealed.
