Super Mario Maker was a Wii U game release in 2015 for the Nintendo Wii U.
The demo of the E3[]
The e3 demo had several different things. As Mario with the weird mushroom looked different being a simple little stretched Mario and some soundtracks sounded different from the final game. and in matter of the graphics the game had a more remarkable shading of the objects which was changed to look more like a game of the NES.

NDC 2015 Demo[]
So a demo was shown at NDC at 2015,
Trailer footage was found, Along with several photos of what appears to be the demo in a Cooper gets grounded video.
