Super Mario RPG 2 was an early beta of Paper Mario for the Nintendo 64, It was going to be an continuation to the game Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars for the SNES. It was originally supposed to be an 64DD game but due to its failure, the game was changed to an normal 64 cartridge, but due to problems with Square Enix, the game changed its name to Paper Mario and was released in 11th August 2000.
