The year was 1972, and the groundbreaking sitcoms All in the Family and Sanford and Son were major hits for their respective networks, CBS and NBC. In an attempt to capitalize on this success, ABC unveiled The Super, a sitcom starring Richard S. Castalleno as the superintendent of a New York apartment as he deals with a lot of things, including dealing with his family, constantly getting his building condemned, and tensions among his ethnic neighbors. 12 episodes were ordered, but only ten were shown, and due to preemption by TV coverage of the 1972 Summer Olympics, the final two (titles unknown; intended airdates August 30 and September 6) were never aired. In the 45+ years since, only a promotional still has resurfaced. In 2021, a YouTuber uploaded the episode "The Automated Super" without audio (aside from the show’s opening).
