The Wacky World of Tex Avery (French: Le Monde Fou de Tex Avery) is an American animated television series created by Robby London and co-produced by DIC Productions, L.P., Les Studios Tex SARL, Milimetros, M6 Métropole Télévision and Telcima. The series featured 7 revolving segments: the titular Tex Avery segments, which centered on the adventures of a cowboy; Pompeii Pete, about a Roman centurion who has adventures in the modern world; Einstone, following a caveman who is an inventor; Genghis & Khannie, involving a lion warlord and a panda; Freddy the Fly, in which the titular fly bothers a billionare named Amanda Banshee; Maurice and Mooch, concering a chicken and a fox; and Power Pooch, regarding the adventures of a superhero dog.

As was typical of a syndicated children's series at the time, 65 episodes of the show were created and aired. On streaming services such as Tubi TV, only 52 of these episodes are offered, with the last thirteen episodes not being included.

Availability[]

According to Platypus Comix, episodes 53-65 first premiered in the spring of 1998 and never appeared anywhere else after the syndication run of The Wacky World of Tex Avery. For example, when This TV ran the show, only 40 of the 65 episodes were run. [1] For many years, the only proof of these missing episodes were their titles and screenshots from them posted onto IMDB. On November 19, 2022, YouTube user The New Humble Cartoon Archive [3] uploaded an old low quality promotional trailer put onto DIC Entertainment's 2002 website, containing a clip from the segment "Bat-Dan". [4]

On April 3, 2023, YouTube user Mirror Gwahar [5] uploaded "Gym Dandy", a segment from episode 56 in English in low quality, taken from a recording on POP UK. [6]

On April 8, 2024, YouTube user VictorREVIEWS [7] uploaded an 11-hour compilation video, containing multiple segments from the show's Latin American dub, which included "Fly Like A Beagle", a Power Pooch segment that was originally aired as part of episode 37 on November 4, 1997, but was later pulled from syndication, presumably due to its plot having similarities to the September 11th attacks. [8]

On May 19, 2024, Fandom user MKaiju31 discovered an Arabic website called arabic-toons.com [9], which had a page containing every episode of the series' Arabic dub, including the then-lost episodes. [10] On May 21, 2024, VictorREVIEWS began uploading the missing episodes in decent quality, albeit from the German dub. [11] Both of these dubs are currently the only ways to watch the missing episodes, as an English dub has not been found.

On September 20, 2024, YouTube user Woomy posted the English dub of the banned Power Pooch segment, discovering it on a 6 hour VHS recording by MySpleen user k0k0da. [12]
