Tronquinho e Pão de Queijo

Tronquinho e Pão de Queijo (also known as Chunk and Donut in English) is a Brazilian animated series created by Rodrigo Gava, being produced by Gava Produções and Globosat with animation handled by SuperToons and sponsored by the Rio de Janeiro's hall. The series premiered on Globosat's children channel Gloob on November 9 to December 11 2015, airing monday to friday at 3:45 PM containing over 26 episodes with 11 minutes.

The series was animated using Toon Boom Harmony software and is aimed towards children aged 6 to 9, it featured a flash minigame called "Crazy Catapult" that was available on Gloob's old website, and its cast is being composed by renoved Brazilian voice actors with a fine exemple being the couple Maíra Goes (The voice of Dory from Finding Nemo) and Marcelo Garcia (The voice of Lighting McQueen from the Cars trilogy)

Plot[]

The plot follows the adventures of a 10-years old boy Chunk and his dachshund Donut in their pursuit of happiness, they are trying to fulfill Grandpa's last wish: to "Find Happiness"... The only problem is that they think happiness is a person or a place… Really?! Watch and be prepared for many laughs and lots of twists and turns!

Status[]

After the series ended, it received some reruns for years, until it was later put in Globosat's streaming services Globoplay. But the series was removed somewhere in 2018 or 2019 due to Globosat losing rights to the series, as the Los Angeles-based sales and distribution studio Spot Films (That is known for distributing Brazilian animated series in United States) now owns the rights of the series. As there's only 1 episode of the series avaible on Spot Films's account in Vimeo (in which is the episode 04 titled Maiaca Apocalypse) the series's character designer Duda Campos (who is known as Duda Creative) have some clips of the series and the theme song in his Vimeo account, and this also counts with SuperToons's animators who worked on the series like Edison Alves, Yasmin Calzolari and Níyea Nakazaki that added some clips they animated in their animation portfolio.
