VH1 Storytellers is an ongoing series of live, usually acoustic, concerts by various bands and performers. The series first aired in 1996 and has aired over 80 concerts since then, with the most recent being Ed Sheeran in January 2015.
On March 8th, 2000 the american rock band Stone Temple Pilots' special aired on VH1. The special featured many of the bands hits up to that point done acoustically, as well as the band answering questions between songs. While most of the show was broadcast on VH1, much like the bands Rolling Rock Show, several songs are missing that have ever surfaced online or elsewhere.
The concert is notable because it features the only known pro-shot version of the bands song "Atlanta", which has not been played live by the band since early 2002.
On June 2nd, 2018, YouTube user BelowEmpty uploaded a nearly two-hour video of the band's performance including outtakes, Q&A and the songs that didn't make it aired.
The full setlist for the show is as follows:
- Big Empty
- Interstate Love Song
- Sour Girl
- Kitchenware & Candybars
- Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart
- Sex Type Thing
The songs "Down", "Creep", and "Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart" were performed at this show but were not included in the broadcast version shown on VH1. They have never surfaced online or elsewhere. It is also noteworthy that only the final chorus to the opening song, "Big Empty" was broadcast. The rest of the song has never surfaced.
