Yakari is a 2005 French-Belgian, western, adventure, family, animated, television series. It is a reboot of the 1983 animated, television series. Both versions are based on the comic book series of the same title by Job and Derib. This was co-produced by 2 Minutes, Belvision, Radio Television Belge Francophone (RTBF), and Storimages. This version ran for five seasons with a total of 156 episodes. The first three seasons were originally traditionally animated, but by the fourth, this animation form had been switched to CG. It was followed by the 2020 animated film adaptation, Yakari: A Spectacular Journey.

Plot[]

Yakari is a Sioux boy who spends a lot of time exploring the various areas in the North American Great Plains. His trusty steed and spiritual guide/totem animal, a pony named Little Thunder, often accompanies him on his adventures, as do his friends, fellow Sioux Kids, Rainbow and Buffalo Seed. Yakari has the special gift of understanding and talking to animals, which was bestowed upon him by the Great Eagle. While Yakari takes the lessons he learns along the way seriously, he aspires to be a great Sioux.

Status[]

The first 52 episodes, which also make up the entire first season, are available in English on Youtube's Yakari English Official channel. But the four, other seasons' episodes still haven't been uploaded. It might be uncertain for those who haven't seen the whole series in English if the other seasons ever received an English dub or not for confirmation.
