Young Samson (originally titled Samson and Goliath) is a 1967 American, superhero, animated, television series. It was co-created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, and produced by the studio of their namesakes. A season's worth of twenty episodes were produced.
Plot[]
An adolescent named Samson, and his dog, Goliath, travel around the country on a motorbike. Whenever someone who arrives and is up to no good, he turns into his superhero alter-ego with the use of his special bracelets. Samson is based on the biblical Samson. Samson rubs his bracelets again to transform Goliath into a lion. The bracelets also have the powers of sending shock waves and increasing his, and Goliath's strengths.
Status[]
Although all the episodes are available on video streaming sites like Kiss Cartoon, they're the edited, syndicated versions instead of the original, nearly half-hour versions. Due to being paired with another Hanna-Barbera series later, The Space Kidettes, and airing in syndication, both shows were trimmed down to ten minutes each. As a result, several scenes of this and The Space Kidettes somehow went missing and have remained lost ever since. The missing scenes have yet to be recovered and restored.
